Virginia Ruth Josephine Dean
Virginia Ruth Josephine Dean, age 87, of Old Fields, WV passed this life on
Thursday, December 28, 2006 at her residence. Born on January 10, 1919, she was
the daughter of the late David Workman Merritt and Sarah Louisa Miller Merritt.
Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dean in 1999. Also
preceding her in death are two sisters and two brothers. She was the last member of
her immediate family.
Mrs. Dean is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Lee Armentrout and Kathie Ellen
Dean, both of Old Fields. Also surviving her are three grandchildren, two step
grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dean was a homemaker and a member of the White Pine Church of the
Brethren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2006 at the
Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield, WV. A service will be conducted at the funeral
home on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ted Osgood
officiating. Burial will follow at the Hotts Chapel Cemetery in Kirby, WV.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Elmore Funeral Home, 217 Winchester
Avenue, Moorefield, WV 26836.
