Sarah Edith McCorkle
Sarah Edith McCorkle, age 77, of Winter Park, FL, formerly of
Wheeling, WV, passed this life on Wednesday, July 18, 2007
at the Vitas Inpatient Care Unit in Winter Park, FL. Born on
January 28, 1930 in Wheeling, WV, she was the daughter of
the late William Thomas Bennington and Goldie Gladys Ice
Bennington.
Mrs. McCorkle was preceded in death by her husband,
William O. McCorkle on August 12, 1996. Also preceding her
in death are one sister and two brothers.
Sarah is survived by two daughters, Marlene Sue Ward of
Clermont, FL, Dianna Marie McCorkle of Wheeling, WV, one
son, William O. McCorkle, Jr. of Clermont, FL, three sisters,
Freda Marie Kettler of Cape Coral, FL, Carolyn Lee Fitton of
Saugas, CA, Charlotte Ann Meyers of Warwood, WV, two
brothers, Donald Edward Bennington and James Ronald
Bennington, both of Wheeling, WV. She is also survived by
seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. McCorkle was a member of the first Presbyterian
Church in Wheeling, WV.
The family will receive friends at the Altmeyer Funeral Home,
Wheeling, WV on Sunday, July 22, 2007 from 2-6 p.m. and at
Elmore Funeral Home, Moorefield, WV on Monday, July 23,
2007 from 12 noon-2 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted
at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ted Osgood officiating. Burial will
follow at the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield.
