Ruby Autumn Pratt
Ruby Autumn Pratt, age 95, of Moorefield, WV passed this life on Thursday, December
13, 2007 at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, WV. Born on January 16, 1912
in Kessel, WV, she was the daughter of the late Sanford S. Simmons, Wade Pratt, and
stepmother, Elsie Simmons.
Mrs. Pratt was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel E. Pratt on December 5,
1968. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Landis, two sons, Wade
“Jack” Pratt and Edgar “Doc” Pratt, three sisters, three brothers, one grandchild, and one
great grandchild.
Mrs. Pratt is survived by three daughters, Lois Hanlin of Hagerstown, MD, Dawn
McCulley and Joy Bailey, both of Moorefield, WV, one son, Robert Pratt of Keyser, WV,
two half sisters, Monie Boswell of Moorefield, Kay Hite of Cumberland, MD, two half
brothers, Donald Simmons of Cumberland, MD, Lloyd Simmons of Summerville, S.C., 15
grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Pratt was a homemaker and a member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren.
She was also a member of the Hardy County Ladies Auxiliary #46 and the Moorefield
Moose Lodge.
The family will receive friends from 6- 8 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2007 at the
Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield, WV. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at the funeral home with Pastor Otis “Buzz” Weatherholt
and Pastor Harold Garber officiating. Burial will follow at the Olivet Cemetery in
Moorefield, WV.
Memorial donations may be made to the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Department #46.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield, WV.
