Robert Loy “Bob” Harper
Robert Loy “Bob” Harper, age 82, of Moorefield, WV, passed this life on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at
his residence. Born on March 14, 1927 in Moorefield, he was the son of the late William Amby Harper and
Grace Dasher Harper.
Mr. Harper was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Campbell Harper of Moorefield, WV; two daughters, Katherine L.
Harper of St. Albans, WV, and Mary E. Combs of Moorefield, WV; one son, Robert W. Harper of Moorefield,
WV; three grandchildren, Bobby Morris, Ginnie Kate Morris, and P.J. Combs.
Mr. Harper was a retired farmer, a member of the Hardy County Farm Bureau, former member of the
WV State Farm Bureau, Hardy County Farm Preservation Committee, a member of the Potomac Valley Soil
Conservation, and a former member of the Hardy County Board of Education. He also served in the United
States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Harper was a life member of Bakers Chapel United Methodist
Church.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2009, at the Elmore Funeral
Home in Moorefield, WV. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at
the funeral home with Pastor Judy Vetter officiating. Burial will follow at the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield,
WV.
