Phyllis Warder
Phyllis Warder, age 99, of Moorefield, WV passed this life on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at the Grant County
Nursing Home in Petersburg, WV. Born on August 21, 1909 in Moorefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late
John Dixon Chipley and Elizabeth Baker Chipley.
Mrs. Warder was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Warder. She was also preceded in death by one
sister, Louise Boggs, four brothers, Julian Chipley, Jr., John Chipley, Jr., Joseph Chipley Sr., Albert Chipley, and
one niece, Elsie Chipley.
Mrs. Warder is survived by two nieces, Jo Edna Chipley of Moorefield, WV, Carole Charles of Ann Arbor, MI,
one great niece, Carolyn Barr of Wardensville, WV, and one great nephew, Michael Chipley of Petersburg, WV.
Mrs. Warder was Presbyterian by faith.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at the Elmore Funeral Home in
Moorefield, WV with Pastor Katherine Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
Memorials may be made to the Hardy County Public Library or to the Moorefield Presbyterian Church.
