Paul Judy Harper
Paul Judy Harper, age 82, of Moorefield, WV, passed this life on Friday, March 6, 2009, at his
residence. Born on September 16, 1926 in Durgon, WV, he was the son of the late Dice Phillip Harper and
Renick Bell Harper.
Mr. Harper was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn O’Donnell, and one brother, Alex
Harper.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Romine Harper of Moorefield, WV; one daughter, Donna H.
Reckart of Old Fields, WV; two sons, John A. Harper of Petersburg, WV, and Roy P. Harper of Moorefield,
WV; four grandchildren, Nathan Bergdoll, Adam Harper, Jessica Ault, and Jessica Reckart; four sisters, Ann
Calhoun of Moorefield, WV; Ellen Golliday of Cumberland, MD; Betty Harper of Moorefield, WV; and Dorothy
Smith of Fairfax, WV.
Mr. Harper was a retired farmer, a 50+ year member of the Farm Bureau, a member of the Bakers
Chapel United Methodist Church, a 50+ year member of the Petersburg Masonic Lodge #145, and an avid
hunter and West Virginia Mountaineer fan. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean
War.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2009, at the Elmore
Funeral Home in Moorefield, WV. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10,
2009, at the funeral home with Pastor Judy Vetter and Pastor Danny Sterns officiating. Burial will follow at the
Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield, WV.
Memorials may be made to the Bakers Chapel Methodist Church Memorial Fund, c/o Mrs. Sam L.
