Nettie Kate Brooks
Miss Nettie Kate Brooks, age 101, of Moorefield, WV passed this life on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at
her residence. Born on May 28, 1907 in Moorefield, she was the daughter of the late William Brooks
and Kate Strawder Brooks.
Miss Brooks was preceded in death by one sister and 12 brothers.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Miss Brooks was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Baker, WV and member of
the Riverside CEOS Club. She graduated from West Virginia State College and Bluefield State College
with a degree in Nursing. Miss Brooks was a retired nurse and had worked at Baltimore City Hospital
for over 18 years.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the Elmore Funeral
Home in Moorefield, WV. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29,
2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Judy Vetter and Pastor Becky Bennett officiating. Burial will follow
at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Moorefield.
Memorials may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church.
