Mabel Rea Newhouse
Mabel Rea Newhouse, age 94, passed this life on Monday, November
27, 2006 at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, WV where
she had resided for some time. Born on July 6, 1912, she was the
daughter of the late Russell G. See and Laura S. Wolfe See.
Mrs. Newhouse was preceded in death by her husband, W. G.
Newhouse on March 21, 1980. She was also preceded in death by one
sister and six brothers. Mabel was the last member of her immediate
family.
Mrs. Newhouse is survived by a nephew, Grover M. See of Moorefield,
and several nieces, Viola Carr and Phyliss Wolfe, both of Moorefield,
Marlene See of Wardensville, Ruth Elsea of White Post, and Viola Kemp
of Phoenix, Arizona.
Mabel was a homemaker and a member of the Bass United Methodist
Church in Bass, WV.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28,
2006 at the Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield, WV. A funeral service will
be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the
funeral home with Pastor Ted Osgood officiating. Burial will follow at the
Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield, WV.
Memorial donations may be made to the Bass United Methodist
Church, P.O. Box 726, Moorefield, WV 26836 or to the Grant County
Nursing Home, 27 Early Avenue Petersburg, WV 26847.
Pallbearers were Daryl See, Stan Wolfe, Walter Southerly, Raymond
Hefner, Richard Bissel, and Dick Riggleman.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Elmore Funeral Home in
Moorefield, WV.
