Jack B. Gregory

Jack B. Gregory, age 70, of Moorefield, WV passed this life on Tuesday, March
13, 2007 at the Winchester Medical Center. Born on August 29, 1936 in
Clarksburg, WV, he was son of the late Lester N. Gregory and Olive Jenkins
Gregory. Jack was preceded in death by one brother.

Mr. Gregory is survived by his loving wife, Lea Inskeep Gregory of 49 years. Also
surviving him are his daughters, Tara Haines and husband, Larry of Mantua, N.J.,
Tammy Hurst and husband, Richard of Paulsboro, N.J., four grandchildren, Lauren
Haines Graner and husband, Ken of Whitehall, PA., Erin Haines of Mantua, N.J.,
Elizabeth and Richard Hurst of Paulsboro, N.J.

Upon completion of Clarksburg High School, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp.
from 1954-1957. He graduated from Fairmont State College with a Bachelor of Arts
Degree.

Jack’s first teaching job brought him and his wife, Lea, to Woodbury N.J., where
he taught from 1960-1967. During this time, he was also a member of the
Woodbury Jaycees. He then joined the faculty at Gateway Regional High School in
Woodbury Heights, N.J. During this time, he also taught night school at Gloucester
County College. In 1990, he was voted “teacher of the year” at Gateway. He retired
in 1997 after 38 years of teaching.

Teaching was his passion. He enjoyed his students and took great pride in their
accomplishments after graduation. He would look forward to Wenonahs 4th of July
celebration, so he could visit with some of them.

After retirement, Jack spent his time between the two places that he loved the
most, his home in Moorefield, WV and his place at the Jersey shore. Nothing made
him happier than sitting on Ocean City Beach with a cigar and a newspaper.
Among his other pastimes were reading history books, antiquing, working
crosswords, watching Jeopardy, and feeding the birds. His greatest pleasure came
from time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jack’s sense of humor will be missed by all. No one could tell a story better or make
us laugh any harder as Jack did.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, March 16. 2007 at the
