Ernest Linden Puffenberger
Ernest Linden Puffenberger, age 94, of Moorefield, WV passed this life
on Tuesday, October 03, 2006 at his residence. Born on June 10, 1912, he
was the son of the late Reuben Puffenberger and Ida Mitchell Puffenberger.
Mr. Puffenberger was preceded in death by three sisters and five
brothers. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Weese Puffenberger of
Moorefield. Also surviving him are one daughter, Marcia Eye of
Jacksonville, Florida, one son, Craig A. Puffenberger of Bedford Cornors,
New York, two sisters, Lela Kuykendall and Roma Weller, both of
Washington, DC, and two grandchildren.
Ernest was the owner and operator of Puffenberger Jewelry in
Moorefield for over 70 years. He was a member of the Duffey United
Methodist Church and a member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren.
Mr. Puffenberger served in the U.S. Army in World War II, was a member of
the Charter Memorial Lions Club, a member of the Mason Lodge # of the
Moorefield VFW and American Legion.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at
the Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield, WV. A memorial service will be
held on Thursday, October 5, at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at
11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Duffey United Methodist
Church in Moorefield with Pastor Ed Craft and Pastor Ted Osgood
officiating.
Burial will follow at the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield, WV, full military
graveside rights will be accorded by Moorefield Veterans Honorguard.
Memorial donations may be made to the Grant Memorial Hospice, P.O.
Box 1019, Petersburg, WV 26847.
