Elsie Halterman Chipley
Elsie Halterman Chipley, age 84, of Moorefield, WV passed this life
on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Grant County Nursing Home in
Petersburg, WV. Born on May 12, 1924 in Rig, WV, she was the
daughter of the late Jehu Jonathan Halterman and Ersula Simmons
Halterman.
Mrs. Chipley was preceded by her husband, Julian Baker Chipley,
Jr. She was also preceded in death by eight sisters and five brothers.
Mrs. Chipley is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Barr of
Wardensville, WV, one son, Michael Chipley of Petersburg, WV, two
sisters, Josephine Bensenhaver of Rig, WV, Wade Bean of Moorefield,
WV, and one brother, Ferguson Halterman of Moorefield. She is also
survived by five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mrs.
Chipley was a member of the Moorefield Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 20,
2008 at the Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield, WV. A memorial
service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008 at
the Moorefield Presbyterian Church with Pastor Katherine Jackson
officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Hardy County Public Library or to the
Moorefield Presbyterian Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Elmore Funeral Home
in Moorefield, WV.
