Arthur “Art” John Valotto
Arthur “Art” John Valotto died on Friday, December 22, 2006 in Winchester,
VA, the son of the late Antonio and Thresa Scrivo Valotto, he was born on
January 3, 1927 in Morgantown, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Alice and
Arselgia, and stepbrother, Colonel James V. Milano.
Married to Evelyn Wilson, he is survived by his wife, Evelyn, a son, Merle
Fallon, granddaughters, Bailey and Emma, nieces, Lynn Watkins Chastain, Jill
Sermon Fergus and nephew, Ray Watkins
Art graduated from University High School and West Virginia University. He
served as a sailor in the U.S. Navy during WWII. A retired former Secondary
School Administrator in Fairfax, VA. He and his wife owned and operated the
McMechen House Inn BB in Moorefield, WV. He was a member of the Moorefield
Lions Club, the Winchester Shawnee Lions Clubs, and the American Legion.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2006 at
the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield, WV with Father Michael Simon officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Emanuel Episcopal Church, P.O. Box
692, Moorefield, WV 26836 or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Elmore Funeral Home, 217
Winchester Avenue, Moorefield, WV 26836.
